The journal follows internationally recognized best practices to ensure that all published content meets rigorous ethical, scientific, and professional standards.
The editorial policies of IJABS are designed to support fairness, independence, accountability, and academic excellence throughout the editorial and publication process.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions at IJABS are made independently by the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial team, based solely on the scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of submitted manuscripts. The publisher does not influence editorial decisions, acceptance or rejection of manuscripts, or the content of published articles.
Editorial Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief and editorial board are responsible for:
Manuscript Evaluation and Quality Standards
All submitted manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial screening to assess:
Manuscripts that do not meet the basic editorial standards or fall outside the journal’s scope may be rejected at this stage without external review.
Peer Review Oversight
IJABS employs a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed. The editorial team ensures that:
Detailed information regarding the peer review process is provided on the Peer Review Policy page.
Ethical Oversight
The journal upholds strict ethical standards in research and publishing. IJABS follows the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Suspected cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate submission, or other forms of academic misconduct are handled in accordance with the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
Conflict of Interest
Editors, reviewers, and authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the evaluation or interpretation of research. Where a conflict exists, appropriate measures are taken to ensure objectivity and transparency in the editorial process.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts submitted to IJABS are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than those directly involved in the editorial and review process.
Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern
IJABS is committed to maintaining the accuracy of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical issues are identified in published articles, the journal may issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as appropriate, following COPE guidelines and international best practices.
Appeals and Complaints
Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions or raise complaints regarding the editorial process. Appeals and complaints are handled transparently, objectively, and in a timely manner by the Editor-in-Chief or an appointed editorial committee, independent of the original decision-making process.
Diversity and Inclusivity
IJABS supports diversity and inclusivity in scholarly publishing and encourages submissions from researchers of all geographic regions, institutions, and career stages. Editorial decisions are made without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, institutional affiliation, or political or religious beliefs.
